WHAT
CPSD may be able to use its members' efforts and its non-profit status to lower costs. WHY As
society has changed over recent years and people are more inclined to
stay home and play on their computers, Square Dancing has been on the
decline, as have most other traditional fraternal organizations.
The book Bowling Alone by Robert Putnam describes this societal "mega-trend" in detail. (Read It) MISSION
The mission of CPSD is to get the word out that Square Dancing
continues to be a wonderful activity that fulfills the needs of its
participants by offering light aerobic exercise, mental stimulation and
lots of friends and social activities. To this end CPSD supports area clubs and callers by offering low-cost classes that are open to all clubs as well as caller scholarships and a new caller practice support group. WHO
